Innovatorly Matrix Canvas
Interactive visual learning module for visa preparation
What It Is
A visual canvas of 21 interactive blocks across 3 segments that guides you through every topic you need to understand for a successful UK Innovator Founder Visa application. Click any block to read curated reference content, track your exploration progress, and see how assessment criteria connect to different parts of your preparation.
The canvas complements the Innovatorly Matrix (4F Framework) evaluation engine. While the 4F Framework scores your business plan, the canvas helps you learn and understand the full landscape of visa preparation.

The canvas is organized into three vertically stacked segments, each covering a major area of your visa application:

How It Works
- 1Open the canvas — navigate to the Innovatorly Matrix Canvas from the app sidebar
- 2Click any block — a detail panel slides open on the right showing curated reference content extracted from TorlyAI's knowledge base
- 3Read and learn — each block's content is pulled from reference modules (Module 1-5, BP Template, Caseworker Checklist, Interview Guide) using heading-pattern matching
- 4Track your progress — explored blocks show a checkmark and the header progress indicator updates (X/21 explored)
- 5Hover the assessment bar — assessment criteria highlight related blocks with a pulsing ring, showing connections across segments
Progress Tracking
Your exploration progress is saved per workspace and persists between sessions. The progress indicator in the header shows a mini progress bar with colour transitions:
80%+ explored
Green bar — comprehensive understanding
40-79% explored
Yellow bar — good progress, keep going
Below 40%
Neutral bar — just getting started
Block Visual States
Each block on the canvas has visual feedback for its current state:
Default
Colour-coded by category (yellow, green, red, blue, purple). Shows priority number badge, label, and subtitle. Hovering reveals a guiding question tooltip.
Selected
Ring highlight and shadow. The detail panel opens on the right, resizing the canvas to 50% width.
Explored
Green checkmark badge and reduced opacity. Persisted to disk so progress survives between sessions.
Highlighted
Pulsing ring when an assessment criterion is hovered. Shows which blocks relate to Innovation, Scalability, Viability, Applicants, or Endorsing.
